Acidulated white wheat, raspberries and an inoculation of lactobacillus in the fermenter give this American ale its tart, fruity taste. Low hop levels let the special sour flavors dominate, and rice syrup helps yield a particularly light finish and body. This is a real summer refresher.

Can. Translucent red with a small pale pink head. 3+ Aroma of mosty sweet raspberries, some light vanilla pudding and yogurt. Slippery body (that's maybe a touch heavy for a BW, but this is 6.5% for some reason), lowish carbonation. Tastes much as it smells, with a pleasant balance between fruit and tart wheat. Mostly about raspberries but that's fine. Good.

Cloudy orangish-red color with a medium pinkish-white head that burns away steadily to a film. Stringy lace. Tart raspberry, wheat and yeast in the nose. Light to medium body with flavors of raspberry, mildly funky yeast and wheat. The finish is mildly tart with a lingering raspberry aftertaste. Above average overall.

12 oz. can, dated 15Nov2017. Pinkish beer with a pinkish head. Has a slightly tart raspberry smell, not very strong, perhaps because my cellar is keeping things cold. Taste is kind of two threads that really don't come together. There's raspberry flavor, and then there's excess sourness that seems to want to be Warheads candy. Doesn't really meld together, just seems to be a sour for its own sake.

Pour is a red with a large pink head. Aroma is all raspberry. Flavor is again all raspberry with plenty of tartness but the tartness is nothing over the top. Finish is clean and leaves some nice fresh raspberry on the tongue. This was decent and the raspberry does not seem artificial. This is better than the cucumber version.

Can at the brewery. Pours a clear ruby with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is berry, lacto, wheat. Thin body, tart berry, wheat, crushable, light acidity, very nice.

12 oz can, pours a deep dark pink with a medium pink head. Aroma brings out lots of fresh pithy raspberries, a touch of lacto and some citric notes. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of fresh juicy raspberries, copious pith and a touch of citric in true Berliner form. Easy to drink and nicely fruity. An excellent addition to the series.
