2007 bottle. Hazy, reddish-brown with a slight, off-white head. Green herb and spice aroma. Flavours of coriander, honey and spice with some warming alcohol in the finish. Didn’t quite come together for me.

Bottled (BB 11/2009)
Never seen so lively beer than this one. HUGE living brown head, creamy, cloudy and full of big bubbles, I wonder what super yeast they have used here. Beer itself is dark ruby. Aroma has chocolate, licorice and gingseng. Sticky mouthfeel. Ginger, gingseng, juniper, dark fruits, licorice and alcohol in the flavor. Some woody and earthy notes in the finish. Quite sweet beer with all kind of interesting spices.

Bottled. Very dark brown opaque colour. The head is something of the most alive head I have ever seen. Aroma is salted licorace, yeast, spices, and some malts. Flavour is alcohol, spices, earth, grass and some caramel. Also slight hints of salted licorace.

CBF07 sample from bottle. Pours amber clear with almost no head. Soapwash aroma, very perfumed aroma hops with a slight spice note (ginger). Flavour is a lot more pleasant sweet, spicy and well balanced. Fullbodied. Finish is rasin sweet.

CPH festival bottle: Dark brown with bubbly brown head. Strong malty connamon spicy. Full body. Nice balanced - and a true winner (if you like cinnamon)

Found at Dickie’s in Bruges, March 2007. One of the most interesting beers I found in Belgium. This is comparable to Pannepot, though not quite that good. A huge spray of beer and foam that required two glasses for serving. The foam fades slowly. Black licorice and malt aroma. A thick, heavy, and sweet beer. Spices are evident, including cardamom. Sweet malt throughout, and a surprising dry finish.

Bottle: Poured a dark brown with white head and plenty of carbonation. The aroma was spicy. The flavor was tangy and very carbonated which reacted to on the tongue.
