33 cl bottle thanks to ekstedt! On November 17, 2010Gushing, so started out with suspicions of infection.Hazy dark brown color, fizzy tan head. The micro bubbles in the head also leans towards an infected beer.Acidic, yoghurt and alcohol scent. Not to a very pleasant side, but not overly disgusting either.Very spritzy mouthfeel that grows and grows for what seems like forever.Acidic taste, not very good, also alcohol. Lost interest for any more sips. Either this is a bad beer, it’s infected, or it’s simply not for someone like me.Low bitterness with warming alcohol.

Pour is a dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is pretty good with lots of spice, molasses and dark fruit. Flavor is a different story. Starts out overly sweet then follows with a little sourness and ends with some butterscotch. Deffinalty different but this really doesn’t work in the end. To many things going on.

Bottled. Cloudy redbrown color, thick brownish head. Aroma is spicy, caramel malty, raisin, cardamom, candy. Bit sugary taste, sweet, alcohol, spicy, good caramel malty body. Bit sticky palate.

gusher. dark nutty brown giant fluffy light brown head. boozy spicy sweet malty, caramelly aroma. Rather well blended. flavor is distinctly sour, citrussy, bitter from spices, Not sure if the sourness is inteded, it do come off a bit more citrussy than a brune would do. Could be an infection, but if so, at least not the worst one. Wonder what kind of bacteria could survive 9% alc beer environment. Tried another bottle. similar taste. It probably is intended to be salty, soy sauce, citrussy , spicy. Strange beer.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Dark reddish brown beer with a minimal off-white head after a vigorous pour. Not a very good sign. Aroma is almost sour ale like, reminded me of Liefmans Goudenband, which I guess is not supposed to be like that. Infected? I guess not, the beer is still clear. Vinous, alcoholic nose, some wood and red fruits. Flavour is sour, wood, coriander, sour drying finish. When the beer warms up the spices like cardamom and coriander are more pronounced in both aroma and flavour, and the beer gets a bit sweeter, but the sour flavour remains, albeit less. Will definitely try again, but for now not really my kind of brew. 6 3 5 3 10. Re-rate: Free bottle from De Bierkoning, this one almost exploded upon opening, with great effort I managed to save half of the contents. Aroma is way more spice than the first bottle, lots of fresh lemony ginger and cardamom, a bit of alcohol. Flavour is spicy, ginger, cardamom, lots of dark malts, sour and light bitter finish. Medium bodied. 7 3 7 3 13

Bottle from Liquid Solutions. Started quite the gusher. Very dark brown color with a huge frothy head. Very spicey aroma over a dark malt. Flavors of chocolate and ginger come forth. Not much sign of heat. Amazingly different and wonderful. Another example that Alvinne is at the top of the ale game. Have no clue why so many don’t get that. The ginger blends so well with the malt. Something like Westy12 with ginger. What a concept. What a flavor.

Explosive head, dark brown murky color. Aroma of alcohol and cotton candy. Sugary flavor with spice finish when the coriander and ginger come through. Too sweet for me.

Erupts like a porn flick into a Trappist glass. Massive brown cola-like foam. Settles rather quickly to mottle the surface. Spicy ginger and coriander aromas. Sweet and tasty with ginger and spices from front to back. Looking at other reviews, it appears that quality control is not a strong point.

Bottle shared by maniac. Thanks! Pours a copper color with a small frothy head. Nice lacing and retention. Aroma reminiscent of eggnog, spicy with caramel and yeast notes. Spice, citrus, caramel and earthy notes in the taste as well as a persistent and pleasant tartness. Slight bitter and vegetal finish. Medium bodied with well-hidden alcohol The spices blend together beautifully.
