DEEP dark brown, with a beige head. I saw the editor’s note, but still this is the darkest IIPA i have ever seen. Aroma of dark malts, tinges of caramel chocolate, and a sweet grassy hops aroma in the background. Flavour is quite hoppy, some nice grassy, and citrucy notes. After tasting the beer i can see what they are talking about it being an IIPA. Its very hoppy, and bitter, but it has a huge mouthfeel and a creamy maltiness that is a touch roasty and smoky.Really to me this is a hybrid between an IIPA, an american barley wine, and a porter.

Aroma of malt, caramel, sweet fruits, some resinous notes, syrup, big hops. Flavour is medium sweet with a medium bitter finish. Not quite Barleywine, more like a sweet and sticky IIPA, the slow sipping kind.

Bottle shared at the Torun GP share courtesy of Grumbo. Aroma of malty caramel, piney, hoppy and cakey. Taste is not as good as the aroma but follows through well.

Tastes like a delicious barleywine with a hint of chocolate maybe?

30/9/2023. Bottle at the Torun GP beer share. Courtesy of Stian, many thanks! 2017. Pours clear dark bronze brown with a creamy off-white to beige head. Aroma is rich boozy dried fruits, earthy malts, black bread, toffee, treacle, fruit cake. Moderate sweetness and medium to heavy bitterness, with a meaty edge. Full bodied, creamy, soft carbonation.

Dark brown color and a tan head. Surprised by the hoppy nose. Malty, hoppy, dried fruits and orange-peel. Taste is dry, malty and decent sweet. Nice herbal bitterness with a citric twist.

Appearance: cloudy deep brown with a perfect ivory-coloured head. Aroma: lots of malt and hops. Caramel, dried fruit, resin, pine needles, grapefruit, orange. Taste: medium sweet and medium plus bitter. Caramel, grapefruit, orange, honey, resin, pine needles. Mouth feel: medium body. Soft to average carbonation. Overall: a model of classic American barleywine. Very good.
