’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.

A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.

At Mikkeller DTLA: pours copper with a white head. Aroma is piny, lightly fruity, hefty malt. Taste is moderately bitter. Sort of too malty. A little sweet.

Bottle at home. Clear orange pour with a tall off-white head with good retention. Notes of grapefruit zest, bitter generic hops, pilsner malts, some tropical fruit. Medium bodied with low carbonation and a bitter-sweet finish.

330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, golden colour with average to huge, fluffy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Piney and citrusy fruity, hoppy aroma, biscuity malty basis, notes of orange, mandarine, orange zest. Taste is slightly sweet biscuity malty, hints of almond, resin; bitter hoppy finish.

Tap at Urban House. Aroma fruity hops, biscuity malt. Clear golden colour, lasting head. Taste has lots and lots of sweet honeyish biscuity maltiness supported by equal bitterness. Hops flavour stays rather in the background. Easily drinkable. Very good.
