’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.
A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.

0,33 l bottle from P & M Getränke, best before 4/6/2017. Clear, golden amber with a huge, very fine pored, foamy, stable, white head (perfect foam!). Intense, fruity aroma of lemon, lime, lychee, passion fruit, grapefruit and resin. Overwhelming, sweetish and maltier taste of grapefruit, pepper, resin and biscuits. This ends in a long, very bitter, peppery, alcoholic finish. Medium body, fizzy mouthfeel, very lively carbonation. Very aromatic and tasty, but too harsh in the finish. Nevertheless gorgeous beer!

330 ml bottle from Mikeller Webshop.
Dark golden, clear body, with a big, frothy, dense head, that laces a lot.
Aroma of passion fruit and other fruits, grass, hay, some herbs, candy, some alcohol.
Taste with a lot of grass, citrus, pine, some tropical fruits, herbs, honey, alcohol.
Mouthfeel is medium, quite oily, with a lively carbonation and it finishes bitter, dry, with pine, lemon zest, a lot of grass again and slightly alcohol warming.
Nice. Pretty intense, not only because of the noticeable alcohol, but also because of quite dominant grassy notes and a strong bitter, dry finish. Good drinkability though. Some nice tropical fruits and sweet candy notes for a good balance. Overall enjoyable, but not my favourite beer of this style.

Tap at Kaapse Brouwers. Slight hazy dark golden with medium white head. Lots is sweet malts with a roasted touch and some cocoa powder. Big piny hops with dry biscuits and bitter marmalade. Some plums and dried apricots. Medium to full bodied. Wow, this is really complex and deep, I get new things with every sip. Love it.
