Bottle at GBBF. It pours deep brown with a small yellow-white head. The nose is earth, light smoke, oiliness, medicinal notes and Snickers. Tap @ Beer Temple. Clear amber color, short head. Aroma of german smoked malts, beechwood, slight flowery hops. Soft bitter taste, dry from the smoked malts. Almost classic Bamberg style rauchbier. Could have used a bit more body, but great brew overall. Cheers to your wedding!

Tap at Borefts 2012, Bodegraven. Pours clear, bright copper with a medium, beige foam head. Pleasant smoked malt nose, hints of tangy berries. Medium sweet flavor with restrained smoke, very lightly toasted sugars, some dry bread. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Dries out nicely to finish with good smokiness, light dry caramel, very faint ham and minerals. Well executed rauchbier. I like it a lot.

Boreft Beer Festival 2012. Clear amber with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of bready malt with a touch of fruit, and a nice, subdued, meaty smoke. Sweetish malty flavour ith well balanced smoke, and a herbal hoppy finish

Bottle 330ml.ABV: 5.4%. Light unclear medium orange amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, sweet malt - meat, smoke, meat. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120613]

33cl bottle, Bierkompass.de. BBE 11/2012. Mahogany color, beige, lasting head. Bamberg smoke, bacon in aroma. Flavor has smoke, ham, wood. Lighter body than Schenkerla, otherwise quite similar. Nicely balanced.

330ml bottle. Clear dark amber colour with huge firm frothy off-white head. Moderate smoke aroma with a touch of ham, a touch of wheat. Taste is quite constricted, moderately smoky, slightly grassy, decent malty; dry finish. Very cautious smoked beer.
