Apparently, Adam was pretty disappointed when the serpent offered him an apple. And we don’t blame him. This Forbidden Fruit is dark red, softly sweet, caressing and full in the mouth. It is brewed with roasted malt and hops, giving it a typical herbal plant aroma. By the way, it’s not forbidden to have a taste.

Bottle. Color: Lightly hazy amber, off-white head. Aroma: Malty, hints of stone fruit. Taste: Malty, fruity notes of stone fruit. Hoppy backbone. Moderate sweet and light bitterness. A classic that I haven't had for a lot of years now, but still a quite nice Belgian classic.

Smell-weak malt, weak Belgian yeast, weak roast. Foam-thin, malty, weak bitter tones, faint roast, faint caramel. Head is large, light white-brown color. Sticks. Appearance- nice cool probably brewer bottle cap, and nice label, artsy. Clear orange, red, and amber color, no carbonation. From - pint Price-2,79 euros for 0.33 Taste- malty, weak yeast, some weak sweetness and caramel, faint yeasty notes. The alcohol creeps up in the background. overall drinkable, but nothing really that would bring me back.

33cl bottle from hopt.it, France. Pours reddish brown, with fine, light brown foam. Aroma is intensely malty, caramel, molasses. Body and carbonation are average. Taste is fairly sweet, toasted. Final is average, with a bit of alcoholic tone.

It is Belgian and it is a dark ale. Enough said. A snifter to receive and I make the pour. The view is a dark toffee colored liquid with a stupendous head of creamy parchment brown foam. A fine nose with dark fruit, yeast and spices. And the taste is all right without being great. Some figs, cloves, perhaps a hint of cardamom, malt, yeast and plums. I get the dryness too. Decent but I think I am one and done.

Bottle at De Blauwe Kater, Leuven. The barman told me that he didnt like this one because its strange. So I asked him, do you like Duchesse de Bourgone. He said no. That gave me the confidence to try this one. Im glad i did because i thought it was pretty lovely. Again, I couldnt rate properly due to conversation but it was an interesting beer that was hitting some obscure notes. Would like to try again in more detail. (25/1/22) ---- Bottle from Delhaize, Leuven. Aroma was a bit ethanol. Nice colour. Taste is interesting but again somewhat boozy for some reason. Surprisingly easy for percentage though. 3.6 to 3.4.
