(Bottle 37,5 cl) Pale, hazy red with a small pink head. Very raspberry nose and flavours. Framboises can often be a cloying, not so pleasant experience, but as this is based on unsweetened lambic it’s very fresh and not too tart. Rather delicate indeed. 060498

Bottle. Fresh raspberry and yeast aroma. Deep red color with medium head. Sweet raspberry flavor initially with a sour finish. Nice fruit lambic that isn’t overly sweet and still has lambic characteristics. / 2008 bottle opened 11-16. Maintained very nice raspberry aroma and taste. MInimal sourness - very smooth. Aged beautifully.

Bottle: The bottle opened with a large POP! Poured a bright red/pink colored beer with a huge head with excellent retention. Carbonation is very strong and aroma is comprised mainly of sweet raspberry. Taste is very refreshing with a very good taste of raspberry (not too much sweetness though) and tart. I appreciated the fact that the acidic part was well covered and wasn’t taking too much place. Overall, this was a very refreshing drink that I wouldn’t mind trying again on a hot summer day.

Slightly hazy red color, short off-white head. Sweet sour aroma of raspberry. Sweet taste, fruity, not tart, only slightly sour. Sticky palate. If you like raspberry, it’s probably quite ok.

Pink-read colour, white head. You can smell the rasp-berries even when you're not drinking or really smelling the aroma. The aroma is mostly rasp-berry aroma, but slightly gueuze-aroma. The flavour is not sweet, it is more like the framboise of Cantillon: little bit sweet, but still dry and really rasp-berry-like.

The aroma is sweet with slight sour notes. The color is a beutiful clear red and it has a light brown head, though fast disappearing. The flavor is rather sweet with a nice taste of the wooden cask. It is rather carbonized for a Framboise. It ends on a dry acidic notes combined with nice mellow notes of the wild fermentation: metal and sourness. A nice Framboise - though a little on the sweet side.

Pale red colour, rosy. No head. Nose of raspberry jam, and somewhere an aroma which you usually hang in your smallest chamber, after seeing it advertised on ITV by a skipping housewife. Taste : raspberry jam again; including slight acidity, fruit acids, fruit sugars and pectines! Very flat, some stickiness - from the pectine? Aftertaste is raspberry flavour again. Disappointing. Could be so much more, with just a bit more lambic character (and somewhat less... perfume, let's call it)

The sweetest of the Girardin beers (unless they have a Faro I don't know about), but bear in mind that sweet is a relative word. The fruit flavours do begin to drown out some of the earthy lambic complexity. Thankfully, there is plenty to spare.
