Draught at Lord Hobo, 4/6/14
Completely cloudy/muddled dark brown pour, as others have mentioned. Actual tan head, surprisingly, but it recedes quickly.
Not much aroma, due to the massive sediment. Some lavendar/sharp perfumey notes initially followed by an odd brett acidity that is mixed with light dark chocolate....Some vanillla, soft wood tannins, but it’s just too muddled and muted.
Tons of lavendar flavor up front, just as in the nose, followed by light sour cherry notes, light roast and some hop fruitiness. Loose/watery texture, low carbonation and just way, way, way too much sediment in suspension. Greasy feel to it, with stearols and lightly dirty yeast flavors. Really bizarre beer, tough to figure out what they were going for here. There’s very littel malt to it, even if the massive amount of sediment werent disrupting the flavor.

Bottle @ ZZT 9 thanks to Abijen. Murky brown color, small tan head. Don’t get a lot of aroma.Taste is moderately sour, quite dry, wood, brett. Hmm not bad but I’m not a fan either.

Tap at The Jeffrey. Pours ugly muddled reddish brown with no head. Nose of dark fruits and light funk. Tastes of woody oak, cherry, merlot residue, kinda chalky and very subdued Brett. Only light tartness on finish. Was hoping for much better on this one.

Very tasty beer. Freshly hopped, quite sour and with a taste of wood. The brett is nice as always.

Bottle at the pre Bamberg tune up in the Sham, cheers to Kenny, 23/01/14. Light black with a good sized tan head that retains well. Nose is bitter tropicals, frewsh hops, straw, light pine, orange pith. Taste carries a light soapy tang but not overly detrimental, orange pith, hops, straw, light grapefruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry grassy bitter twang in the closure. Ok stuff - wasn’t this a black IPA ?!?!?

Pre Bamberg bash tasting at Colin’s house with Mr Bois and James. Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is slightly airy and minerally crisp. Pretty tangy but ultimately mellow dark malt. Lightly sourish dark chocolate. Spicy piney hops with lesser citrus peel. Semi dry finish. Tangy. Don’t believe Mr Bois - no soap here.

Bottled @ Beer Temple, small sample. Dark color, short head. Aroma is slight tart, acetic acid, sweaty socks, some caramel, hint of chocolate and citrus. Bit fruity sourness in taste, hint of sweetness. Strange and a bit unbalanced, but I still enjoyed it. Wouldn’t take a 2nd glass though.

Bottle @ Beertemple, thanks for sharing Sander. Very dark brown colour, with a tan head. Nose is sour, sweaty feet, acetic acid, light toastiness, hops, fruity, cherry. Flavour is fruity, toasted malts, sour fruits, cherries. A bit odd, unbalanced.
