Bottle from a Carrefour in Ninove. Pours hazy dark brown with a lasting, frothy, beige head; some lacing. Inviting aroma of pear syrup, candied dates, toasted bread, raisin, molasses, milk chocolate, cookie dough, cinnamon, caramel, red apple, cold tea. It tastes medium to heavy malty sweet, notes of dough, caramel, toasted bread coated with molasses, and light herbal bitter, tea-like with a touch of cinnamon cookie. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, a bit toasty & smoky even, lingering caramel malt. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Very pleasant surprise, recommendable Dubbel.

0,33 flaske fra Belgisk Bryg, siste kveld på hytta okt-17, mens jeg hører direktesendig fra DR koncerthus med Den norske operas orkester (!): lett uklar brunlig rav med fint skum som varer. Mørke karameller, fiken, sviskeplommer, knekk, brunsukker, urter og bjørnebær. Et kledelig dryss av kanel dukker opp når temperaturen har steget litt. En riktig god dubbel som ikke er for søt, men kan allikevel dekke dagsbehovet for snop. Fin bitterhet med et fruktig anslag i ettersmaken, og varmen i magen er behagelig. Passet utmerket til "Ein Heldenleben".

Fles gekocht in België, thuis geprobeerd. Het is een roodbruin bier met een volle schuimkraag. Het heeft een beetje een zoete geur. De smaak is gebrand, caramel, druif.

Tap@Taphouse, Copenhagen - Dark brown pour with off white head. Sweet and toasted malty with noes of caramel, some cocoa, brown sugar, dried fruit shred, some spices, sweet malty close.

F: big, lasting, pale brownish,. C: reddish to brown, opaque, hazy. A: little cocoa, little coffee, hint of vinous, caramel, dark fruit. T: syrupy sweet, caramel, brown sugar, little cacao, hint of dark cherries, plums, mocha, medium body, a little dry finish, good carbonated, ABV on the bottle 7,5%, good Dubbel anyway, 0,33l bottle from beer festival in February in Brugge.
