Dark beer, almost black with creamy and brown foam. Rich and powerful beer with a very long after-taste. Very complex and still soft aroma. The high level of alcohol is very subtlety hidden. It is prepared with strongly roasted malt which gives its very special taste.

Poured from 750mL bottle (2021 vintage; bottled 09/04/21). Dark chestnut brown with minimal off-white head and a bit of sediment. Belgian yeast, dark fruits, some toffee notes, decent.

Bottle 0,75ltr: Hazy dark brown brew with an almost to sweet taste, but not to much. Taste of banana, vanilla and caramel, and its gives a warm mouthfeel.

Bottle from local AH XL supermarket. Color: Clear dark copper to amber, large frothy very light brown head. Aroma: Dark malt, nutmeg, caramel, some roasted malt. Taste: Sweetish malt base with quite strong floral and lightly citrus hop backbone. Spicy notes of nutmeg. Over moderate sweet and moderate to over moderate bitterness. Dar malt, some roasted malt, subtle chocolate and nuts. Medium body, average to above average carbonation. Nice typical Belgian Strong Dark Ale.

Brown with a big, frothy head of good duration. Aroma promises caramel, plum jam, and spice. Taste is bitter with both a moderate acidity and a dose of nutmeg in a boozy finish. Overall, the taste has a blatant, forced feel—this is not a beer of subtle delights. Medium-bodied, moderate carbonation. A hint of lingering cherry/plum taste on the tongue is the most interesting thing going on here. Drinkable.

Bottle shared with Johan and Holmen1 at Vaaland 21.04.24. Clear dark copper amber. Foamy beige head and lacing. Aroma of sweet medium roasted malt, corints, green grapes, molasses and figs. Scaringly light and drinkable for such a high ABV. Knickers away!
