Tap at Hopa. Oily black pour, beige head. Nose is big booze, coffee, roasted malts, molasses. Taste is thick sweet notes of booze, malts, chocolate, a touch of coffee. Medium to heavy body, soft carbonation. Very nice with a superb balance but somehow I expected somewhat more.

Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate and lots of coffee. Flavour is roasty, dark chocolate, more and more black coffee. Surprised at how well-masked the alcohol is, you can sense this is a strong brew but there’s not a lot of alcohol in the flavour. Being a coffee drinker I enjoyed the hell out of this stout. Greatness in beer.

Bottle 0,331 ltr: Opaque black with an long dry bitter taste, major hints of dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate and minor hints of liquorice, caramel, plums and vanilla. The heavy abv is well hidden.
Name me a us town and I will find a spurs bar in it. COYS

Pours very dark brown, looks practically black in the glass, with a quite low sized (ok per abv) brownish head. Ok retention, very little lacing. The aroma is less potent than expected, but well integrated: roasted malts upfront with fresh coffee and quite vivid dark chocolate, a quite distinct caramel presence and a warming, perhaps slightly alcoholic suggestion. Taste is richer and stronger than the aroma suggested: a quite distinct sweet caramel presence, perhaps a touch of nuttiness, vivid roasted notes of coffee and dark chocolate, a pleasant fruit background (fruit cake like) and just a hint of alcohol warmth. Sweetness and bitterness are both pretty high with excellent balance in both taste and aftertaste. Balanced, semi-dry finish/aftertaste with a hint of fruitiness lingering. Dense bodied, with quite delicate, low to medium carbonation; pleasant, slightly creamy, actually quite smooth for the abv. Overall: a very classic american imperial stout, very accomplished and ultimately very good; perhaps less impressive than i thought it would have been.
Deep black color and a Tan head. Roasted malts, DARK Coffee, Taste of roasted malts, chocolate, bitter finish

Pours oily black with a thin tan head. Aroma of nutty malt. Taste has huge oily notes, heavily bitter coffee, cocoa. Palate has lingering bitter coffee notes, some more cocoa and burnt malt, boozy. Not bad.
