A HUGE Imperial Stout that weighs in at an impressive 12% ABV! As if that's not enough, we added pounds of coffee for a little extra kick.

Lovely coffee, sweet bourbon (almost rum) nose. Pours almost jet black with a lacy tan head. This is a beautifully balanced imperial stout -- roasted coffee, slightly bitter chocolate, a solid hint of booziness, well roasted malt, a hint of cherry and a touch of cream. There are enough hops underneath to help support the classic stout elements. Great balances and a long but clean finish

Bomber bottle (my last one). Black pour with a big foamy brown head. Aroma is strong with blackened malts, coffee and some black licorice. The taste is quite complex with coffee, licorice, black walnuts, mocha and burnt grains. The palate is full and viscous and coats the mouth well. Finishes long and magnificent. Overall: Just Loved It. This bottle is quite old but its held up very well. A bit more black licorice in this than I remember from the past, but that's ok. In my eyes this is the coffee stout against which all others are compared to and judged. Paired surprising well with some pepper jack cheese. Side note--I've now got quite a beer buzz going--yes--I drank the whole damn bomber. Now I cant help but reason that Impy stouts score so well here is because they make you happy drunk. Added note: this bottle was well aged in my wine cellar for about 9 years.

Bought last year at Beerheads' closeout in Elmhurst. Thick black pour with a tan ring of foam. I see an oily coating as I swirl the beer in the glass. Smell has nice strong alcohol note for a non-barrel-aged beer. Then a nose of coffee gives it a Kahlua impression that I like. Nice roast from both the malt and the coffee. It does get a tad astringent, but when I over chilled it, it went very nicely cold.

Bottled. Poured dark and viscous, tannish head. Coffee and roasted malts aroma, similar taste and nice bitter chocolate finish. Outstanding in all aspects.

Bottle. Shared this jewel with family members on Christmas eve. What can I say it is every bit as good as advertised. Probably the darkest beer I’ve ever had. Light would not penetrate it. Aroma was over whelmingly coffee. Taste was extremely complex with mostly coffee but undertones of chocolate and caramel, but what’s really surprising about it is the creamy texture. It’s excellent.
