St. Bernardus Abt 12 is widely regarded as one of the best beers in the world. It is therefore no surprise that it is our brewery’s flagship beer, ranked at the very top of the St. Bernardus beer hierarchy. It is brewed in the classic quadrupel style and adheres to the original 1946 recipe. This is a dark beer with a robust head that is ivory in colour. EBC 60.

330ml bottle. Big murky brown pour with a big fluffy head. Wood, leather, cherry, raisins, sweet sherry, caramel, chocolate, orange zest, dried apricot. Body is good. Very nice. Really improves as it warms.

Bottle @ Varuna Cafe - Ankara. Pours murky brown with foamy beige head, caramel and molasses aroma, high carbonation, lightly sweet caramel taste with bitter roasted malt kicking in immediately, fruity background, smooth body, long medium bitter caramel finish. Such a smooth taste for a quadruple!

28/05/2017 - draught @Het Eenvoudig Bestaan, Kerkhove. Hazy dark brown with nice light tanned head. Nose sweet dark malts, touch of caramel and licorice. Taste is sweet dark malts, some dark fruits, hint of licorice, some chocolate.

0,33 l bottle. Darkest brown in the glass, think it´s unclear, one finger head. Very complex on the nose, a lot of dark fruit, malt, little bit alcoholic. Taste is malty, some fruity sweetness, some sourness, kruiden as the dutch said.. Really great stuff.
