Koff Porter is a top fermented dark, almost black, unfiltered beer, with a malty roasted aroma. Four different malts are used for this brew: Pilsner, Münchener, coloured and brown malt. These make up the beer’s characteristic aromas: roastedness, chocolate, coffee and liquorice. Koff Porter is generously hopped with Saazer and bittering hops.

330 ml bottle courtesy of tkrjukoff. Consumed on November 19. Pours deep brownish black with a brown head that quickly dissipates while leaving some trace on the glass. Smell is sweet with chocolate, vanilla and cognac. Taste is sweet and fullbodied with roasted malt, coffee, a slight tartness and slight bitterness. Finish is dry and bitter with lots of coffee.

12 oz. bottle. Pours pitch black with a thin brown head. The aroma is chocolate, toffee, toast, dates, and licorice. The flavor is very sweet and roasty, with a little bitterness in the finish. The palate is medium to heavy, sticky, and grainy. Overall, this is a well made and delicious porter, with strong flavor and pleasant aroma.

My first beer from Finland. +++Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer poured pitch black and a bit oily with a huge foamy dark brown head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was dry, dusty and a bit roasty with hints of chocolate, coffee, wood and cream. The flavor was dry, bitter, woody and roasty with notes of smoke, vanilla, burnt toast and unsweetened coffee. The finish was long and roasty with lingering wood, smoke, burnt toast and coffee. Thick and creamy body. Nice.

Tasted in a vertical with 8 different batches from years 2008-2011. This was the oldest and best bottle.
Aroma is very close to a good IS. Lots of chocolate and roasted malt. Flavour has lots of chocolate too, but also hints of harsh, unpleasant bitterness can be observed. Very good baltic(?) porter anyway.

11.2 oz bottle into English pint. My bottle reads "Sinebrychoff Porter IV." Pours opaque black with amber tints around the edges; has a large tan head that leaves spidery lace; takes forever to collapse. Aroma is grainy with a hint of maple syrup; has a bit of a SweeTart character, too. Taste is mostly sweet with a bitter edge. Roasty. Carbonation and body are medium, moutfeel is creamy. Nice.

Pours black with a nice foamy head. Aroma is metallic and roasty. Smooth, milky taste with a roasty and chocolatey finish. Well balanced and medium bodied porter. Easy to drink.
