X-Porter

0.5l bottle. This is a clear deep dark one with a small brown bubbly top that quickly fades to the sides of the glass. Nice roasted aroma with some chocolate, coffee and a nice sweetness. Not to complicated just pleasant and nice. It's right below average on the carbonation and the mouthfeel is light oily. Quite a good amount of flavors here. Deep roasted - almost on the verge of light burned, good bitter dark chocolate, cold strong coffee and those sweet caramel things you put in the coffee at gas stations. It's leaving a really dark roasted chocolaty flavor in my mouth for a long time this. Impressingly flavorful and I think this has to be one of the best beers I've had from our neighbours up in the east. I used to know a Finish word once, but when I talked to a Finn, that actually turned out to be totally wrong. 05.02.2013

Draught at St Urho, Helsinki. Colour is almost black with small brownish white head. Aromas and flavours: Chocolate, coffee, sweetness and roasted malts.

Bottle RB Århus tasting @ Christers. Pours black with a creamy light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, light smoke, dark chocolate. Flavor is malts, coffee, nuts, smoke, chocolate. Thin body, soft carboantion, slightly dry and roasted finish. 270213

Bottle @ Aarhus tasting. Almost black with a small brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt and smoked wood. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and roasted moderate bitter finish. 270213

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are rich licorice, caramel, roast malt, chocolate, notes of smoke and hops. Dry and bitter finish.

Bottle, 7%. Almost black with medium beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, caramel and liquorice. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, liquorice, caramel, medium sweet, hop, little smoke and a medium bitter.

Pours pitch black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel and chocolate. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long chocolate finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

50cl bottle from Drink Shop, Tallinn. Pours black with a tan head. Roasty aroma with dark fruits, chocolate, coffee and hints of hops and spices. Less sweet than expected, but som alcohol sweetness. Roasty and chocolaty with a quite bitter and somewhat dry finish. Bitter aftertaste with roasty notes. A refreshingly different porter - tasty and enjoyable! (2013-02-16)

500 ml bottle. Dark brown, almost black body with a nice dense beige head. Nice aroma of dark, light roasted malt, coffee, liquorices and dark chocolate. Flavour is sweet, mild roasted dark malt, liquorices, dark chocolate, coffee and well balanced moderate bitterness. Fine body, good aftertaste, well balanced sweet porter. Nice.

0,5 flaske fra polet: svart, med sjokoladebrunt velsmakende skum som legger en gardin på glasset. Sjokolade, kaffe (og litt vanilje?) i smaken, som har stor munnfylde og deilig, noe tørr og røstet ettersmak. Min første finske porter, og det var en vellykket debut!
