In 1842, our first Brewmaster Josef Groll brewed a beer unlike any other. His crisp, refreshing golden lager was made with local ingredients: sweet Moravian barley, delicately bitter Saaz hops, soft Pilsen water, and bottom-fermenting H-strain yeast. Groll named this special beer after the city where he brewed it, Pilsen, where we still brew the same beer today. Over the last 178 years, pilsner-style lager has become the world’s most popular beer, with seven out of 10 beers in the world imitating Groll’s innovation. There are many pilsner-style beers out there, but only one original.

Bottle. My late Opa from Germany turned me on to this beer. Even so, I really didn’t care for it. It is way too bitter for me. The color and aroma are not bad but after drinking it I really didn’t care to have another.

1 litre bottle. Nice golden color with a white head. Malts in aroma & taste. Medium bodied, lively carbonated. Pleasant bitter taste with a long finishing. Excellent.

Pite w barze u zlatego tygra w Pradze można powiedzieć u źródła. Zapach słaby słodowy, Piana gęsta i biala szybko nie opadła klarowne, w smaku mleczne trochę gorzkie i słodowe. Średnia lekkie w treści, nagazowanie spore, orzeźwiające. Smak goryczki nie jest zbyt mocny ale jest, piwo bez żadnych wad są tylko wady czeskich pilsow. Ogólnie piwo to smakuje najlepiej z kranu ewentualnie z puszki, picie go z zielonej butelki to jakieś nieporozumienie

Völlig zu Recht auch heute noch der absolute Pils-Klassiker. Tiefgoldene Farbe, cremig-dichte und stabile Schaumkrone; grasig-kräutriger Hopfen und malzige Aromen in der Nase; im Geschmack malzbetonter als die meisten Pilsner, hopfenaromatisch, kräftige Hopfenbittere, mittlerer Körper, relativ kraftvoll bei niedrigem Alkohol, bleibt lang am Gaumen.

The original.......nice bready aroma, with notes of grains, and corn. Flavour is much of the same. I would love to try the unfiltered version of this!

Bitter, hoppy pilsener. Malty and very fresh. Pretty crisp with soft grassy hops and grains. A solid Pils.

Классический пилзнер из Чехии не смог показать мне что то фантастическое. Легкий солодовый вкус и ничего более.
