Shared 22 oz. bottle. Pours a thick brown-black with a brown, chocolatey head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, alcohol, caramel, and molasses. Taste follows but with the hops making an appearance with citrus notes and pine. Viscous and full-bodied. Bitter finish. Rather intense, but very nice overall.

Bottle. Pours pitch black, with a big creamy mocha head. Aroma is burned malts and coffee, as well as cocoa, muscovado and notes of wood. Medium full body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is dark roasted malts, coffee and raw liquorice, notes of caramel, cocoa and muscovado, as well as notes of lactose and dark fruits. Lingering bitter notes of burned malts in the finish.

Pitch black colored, medium long lasting dark tan creamy head with nice lacing. Aroma is of burnt sugar, roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruits and coffee. Taste is medium sweet brown sugar, dark chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, dark fruits, dry roasted coffee medium+ bitter finish. Full bodied, soft carbonation, thick creamy. Bottle pour into shaker glass from Craft Beer Cellar, Amesbury, MA. Aroma is dark fruits, chocolate and slight coffee. Appearance is opaque black with 1/2 finger width light brown fluffy head with great persistence and nice sticky lacing. Sparkle seen at sides of glass. Taste is early sweet mix of chocolate and dark fruits with mild alcohol, middle with caramel/toffee and mix of roasted malt/coffee sweet and bitter at the end. Palate is full bodied with amazing creamy texture, warmth from the alcohol in the throat and stomach and pleasant bitter roasted dry finish. Overall, this one lives up to its reputation. There is complexity at every turn with the only knock on perfection being a slightly muted and less complex aroma than the rest, but this is nitpicking to the highest degree. Worth every penny.
