Traditionally, Imperial Stouts, the biggest and boldest of all stouts, were brewed with massive amounts of roasted malts and hops, resulting in a velvety smooth but robust beer characterized by high alcohol content and extremely high hop bitterness. Meeting the challenge of this aggressive, challenging beer style, Great Divide's Yeti Imperial Stout is an onslaught of the senses. An almost viscous, inky-black brew, Yeti opens with a massive, roasty, chocolate, coffee malt flavor that eventually gives way to rich toffee and burnt caramel notes. Packed with an enormous quantity of American hops, Yeti's hop profile reveals a slightly citrusy, piney, and wonderfully dry hoppy finish.

Cant believe I’d not rated this juan ! Picked up at Systembolaget Malmo and chuged on the train back to CPH, 21/08/15. Black with a decent dirty tan head that retains well. Nose is rich roast, chocolate, spice, bitter fruit, charring notes, burnt toffee. Taste comprises chocolate, spice, toffee, chocolate biscuit. Full bodied, fine carbonation, light boost in a warming close. Decent impy but another of the old guard that I don’t feel warrants the 4+ score in this day and age.

From a 355ml bottle on 7/8/2015. Pours pitch black with a tiny deep brown head. It features a chocolatey nose, with some caramel and a bit of roasted malt, but it’s not super intense. Itis however very intense in the mouth - again lots of chocolate (dark and milk), some coffee, caramel, lots of burnt and roasty malt, and licorice. What makes it different from most impys is that it is really, really hoppy. There’s lots of pine, resin and some grapefruit in the mix, making this present as much like an imperial black IPA as a stout. The texture is creamy and the carbonation soft. An absolutely delicious treat for hop heads.

Not too often you get a beer sporting an overall rating of 100, guess that’s why I had this fella brought up from Buffalo. My first great divide. Yeti or not... poured and inky dank black with a sheet of mud-brown head. Nose lots of deeply roasted malts, sweet chocolate and a little coffee. The sweetness takes a step back on the taste, lots of roasted malts that are a touch burnt, but not unpleasant. Coffee, chocolate and a decent balance with the bitter and the sweet. Excellent brew.
