Aventinus, the Wheat Doppelbock of Bavaria, has always been known to be the most intense and complex wheat beer in the world. This was the case for the past sixty years, but not anymore... Up until the 1940’s, Aventinus was shipped all over Bavaria in containers lacking temperature control. Consequently, the precious drink partially froze during transportation. Unaware that the brew was concentrated by the separation of water from the liquid. People were baffled by this unique version of Aventinus. By chance, the first Aventinus Eisbock was created. Well aware of this story, Hans Peter Drexler, brewmaster of the Schneider brewery, decided to recreate this classic "mistake" in a modern controlled facility. Thus, the Aventinus Eisbock is reborn sixty years later ... Prost!

Barwa miedziana, klarowne, piana jasnobeżowa, dość obfita, dość trwała. W aromacie słodowe, karmel, toffi, ciemne owoce. W smaku słodowe, karmel, toffi, skórka od chleba, ciemne owoce. Goryczka niska, wysycenie niskie do średniego, ciało pełne, alkohol dobrze ukryty, całkiem sporo się dzieje. Bardzo dobre piwo.

Dark redish-brown color with light brown head. Caramel, plum, fruits, wheat aromas. Average bitterness and bit sweetness. Full body with long warming finish.

Dark mahogany pour with a white head. Aromas: oak, roasted malt, dark/dried berries, cocoa. Christmassy taste, ginger bread, some spices (cloves, nutmeg, hint of cinnamon), dark chocolate, toffee, roasted grains, whisky-like. Aftertaste of dried fruits, fruit cake, oak - long and pleasant. Really enjoyable.

2013 vintage in 2021. Admittedly, I drank this a bit too old and it recommended drink by 2018. Still excellent depth of brown sugar, raisins, plums, chocolate, full bodied, but definitely had dried out more than I want for the style - Ive had this fresher and its better. Very good balance and never cloying. Solid take on the style

Bottle online from The Trembling Madness. Pours a deep mahogany colour with a large thick foamy beige head. Aromas of caramel, fruit cake, bananas and cloves. Fantastic smelling beer. Taste has more upfront notes of fruit cake and caramel, with fainter notes of bananas and cloves. Sweet hints of treacle and also a little tobacco and warming alcohol which is extremely well hidden considering the very high abv. Fantastic winter warmer sipper.
