Bottle. Dark copper colour, rocky head that does not stay long, almost no lacing. Aroma is mostly herbal hops, some toffee. Light bitterness, the beer is rather dry, with bitter finish. Light body, soft carbonation, very easy to drink. Quite ok, although the taste might be more intensive.

440ml can into glass. Mild malt nose. Ruby red beer with 2 finger tan head. Taste is clean, sweet, full-bodied. Finish is toasty malt with a glimpse of hops. Really nice.

Clear, dark copper colored beer with really fair and long lasting head. The head is about one finger thick. Mostly caramel aroma. It’s malty. It’s quite bitter, but it could be more. A little bit sour. Astringent, rough texture, medium carbonation and light-to-medium body.

35 cl bottle, around 2.90€. Dark ruby red color, clear, thik creamy offwhite to beiege head, excellent lacing. Some winegar right off the cap then quiet nose overall. Aroma is roasted/chocolate malts and pale malts blend with caramel and smooth nice english hops, woody aftertaste with fruity overtones. Brandyish alcohol already in the finish, feels like ABV is much higher. Soft carbonation, mild taste neither too sweet or too bitter, souish. Low carbonation, medium bodied, easy to drink. Quite nice ESB.

Retest am 28.01.2024 - das ist immernoch ein beachtlich gutes Bier für eine so große Brauerei. 13.09.2020 Herrliche Erscheinung im Glas, schöner brauner Körper, kräftiger Schaum, der aber schnell zusammenbricht. Ordentlich malzig mit leichter Süße im Nachgeschmack. Passt gut zu Pizza. Sehr angenehm zu trinken.

Pours a brown color, rather light, topped with a fairly decent beige colored head. There is a mild roasty aroma, some nice caramel and chocolate are there too. The taste is slightly sweet and roasty, followed by nice caramel, coming together with a light bitterness. Very enjoyable and smooth.

Deep ruby color with medium fluffy grey head. Floral hop notes, not too fruit-aromatic some caramel malty taste in there as well. Well-balanced malty bitter taste, caramel and bitter chocolate. Also has that super-smooth UK ale mouthfeel. Very decent well-balanced UK red ale, one of my favourites. Also one of the beers that awoke my interest in ales.

Deep red to brown color, well lacing head. Aroma of citric fruit, leather, herbs, brown sugar. Medium body. Bittersweet taste. English herbal finish. Decent.

Classic English ale with light beige, creamy head and brownish copper colour. Malty, bit smoky, nutty aroma with hints of wood, apple, leather and raisins. Nutty maltiness in the mouth, bit toasted, very drinkable with rather subtle, herbal hop bitterishness in the finish. Nice, I should taste this from the cask when I have the chance.
