Drink legendary. This distinct ruby beer’s sweet caramel and fruity aromas tease the taste buds. Brewed with smooth and rich Chocolate and Crystal malts & a blend of Fuggles and Styrian Golding hops. Expect a delicious full-bodied toffee flavour and a fruity finish of figs, raisins and dates.

500ml bottle. Poured a hazy ruby colour with a mostly lasting frothy off white head. The aroma is red berry fruits and malt. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter, with a smooth, rich, malt, blueberry, light floral woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

500ml bottle shared with Eric in Shrewsbury. Pours deep amber, large off-white head. Aroma of amber malt, berry sweetness. Continues to taste, a bit more of a sweet nutty fruitcake flavour profile than I was expecting, nice nutty amber malt body. Solid bitterness. Ok ruby ale.

Getrunken als Wychwood Hobgoblin Ruby. Farbe schwarzer Rubin. Geruch erinnert in Nuancen an Rotwein. Auch geschmacklich findet sich ein wenig davon. Ein Hauch von Wermut fliegt vorbei. Röstig - Spuren von Kaffee und Röstmalz. Gute Substanz. Nicht uninteressant.

Bottle from Tesco. Pours a clear ruby colour with a medium sized creamy white head. Aromas of dark fruits, plums, cherries, dark jam, caramel, chocolate and a touch of roasted malts. Taste has more dark fruits, caramel, chocolate, burnt brown bread and more roasty notes on the finish. Full body with a fairly smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. Nice
