Bottle @ Akkurat Stockholm. Finally! Deep black appearance with a very nice, medium-sized, bubbly, dark brown head. Char, deeply roasty, burnt dark chocolate, lightly boozy, mild espresso aroma. Tons of roast in the nose. Very rich, dark milk chocolate, mild vanilla, burnt malty, a touch fruity, very rich roasty flavor. Slightly boozy finish but really a perfect roasty maltiness going on. 2006 vintage. (Note: in my drunken stupor after a night at Akkurat, I put this rating under the Kaggen entry, but I had the normal one)

2008 bottle courtesy of jsquire at Ft Wayne tasting - Pours near black with a small tan head. It smells of smoky, roasted chocolate and coffee. It tastes sweet with chocolate, coffee, and soy sauce characteristics. Full bodied. Excellent.

2009 draught at Linköping beer expo. Opaque, black liquid with small to medium dark brown head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, cereal malt and licorice. Really complex. Taste is light sweet, medium bitter with roasted notes. Full bodied with good carbonation. Really great.

Bottle @ Danish Summer Gathering, Ulfborg 2011. Many thanks to Jan. 2006 bottle (I think). Black with a small brown head. Wonderful aroma of roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Similar flavour , wonderfully balanced. If I hadn’t tried the Kaggen version, this could haev been my favourite beer. But the extra oaky elements of the Kaggen make it a bit superior. A wonderful beer nevertheless.

Brilliant and very rich aroma with roasted malt, chocolate and hints of honey. Flavour is sweetish and somewhat bitter with cocoa. Very thick, doppelbock-like palate that becomes sticky at the end of the bottle. Very good IS!

Bottle @ Bishops Arms: Järntorget on October 9. 2006 vintage. Pours a quite oily pitch black liquid with a very small brown head. Smell is sweet and complex with some dried fruit, liquorice, chocolate and a warming smell of alcohol. Taste is huge! There’s roasted malts, dark honey, chocolate, coffee, a hint of vanilla and some liquorice. Mouthfeel is massive and the liquid is oily and intense. Finish is dry and dominated by bitter chocolate. An incredible beer!

Bottle from FOneFan. Very dark brown almost black with small brown. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, vinous little liquorice, little sweet, dried fruits, hops and a little bitter.
