Odin's Tipple was meant to be a strong beer, but we changed our minds...its still strong but we wont follow the mega strong trend. It should be possible to make great beer without the extreme alcohol potency. Odin's Tipple is now approx 11% abv, it’s a dark almost black beer from lots and lots of chocolate malt. Its the malt that contributes the flavor...no added coffee or anything else, Its got a great body without being old engine oil and still very drinkable due to the wild yeast we use. This beer is made with a single strain of wild yeast and the recipe is dead simple.

Bottle. Black and opague. Even the foam is dark brown colored. Roast and dark chocolate in the aroma. Malty sweet roasty alcoholic flavor with dark chocolate, dried fruit and ash. Roastbitter aftertaste with tobacco. A powerhouse, this beer!",

Bottle sample courtesy of Grumbo, many thanks Graham! Brewery #1000. Pours black in colour with a red tinge, afew beige bubbles on top and aroma of roasty malt, chocolate & coffee, dark fruits. Taste is roasted malt, molasses, dried fruit, liqourice, with dark chocolate, coffee, and earthy nutty bitterness. Oily mouthfeel, medium to full bodied, soft carbonation, dry roasty boozy finish. Very drinkable.

1/6/2019. Bottle from Bacchanalia, Mill Road, Cambridge, shared at the Krsko GP beer share. 10.2% abv. Pours very dark brown with a small bubbly tan coloured head. Aroma of heavy roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, milky cocoa, nut, liquorice and light wood. Light to moderate sweetness, medium plus bitterness. Full body, slick texture, average carbonation. Nutty dark chocolate finish. Very good.

Just what I needed on this long, dark night: a pint of jet black Dark Norse Ale. This is the 11% version.
