Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. Opaque black color, medium to full sized quickly diminishing light brown head that leaves fair lacing. Smell and taste malts, lightly roasted malts, some iron, moderately bitter, some chocolate, lightly earthy. Decent body, medium carbonation.

Bottle @ benzai. Pitch black colour with a medium sized beige head. Smells liquorice, sweet, roasty, chocolate, liquoricewood. I dislike liquorice in beer. Tastes roasty, chocolate and coffee, but with loads of iron and some liquorice. Medium to full body, soft carbo, slightly silky feel.

Very dark brown, stable tan head. Aroma has licorice and dried fruit. Flavour is similar with smooth alcohol. Nice, soft mouthfeel.

Schwarzes Bier mit schöner bräunlichen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr intensiv röstmalzig, Kaffee. Geschmack sehr intensiv röstmalzig, Kaffee, bittere Schokolade.

From a 50 cl bottle shared in Park City UT. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of licorice and chocolate. Flavors of plums and over ripe stone fruits. Medium heavy body oily finish. Tasty.

A roasted and bitter fresh aroma. Flavor is roasted chokolate and coffee with a floral bitter aftertaste and warm alcoholic mouthfeel. Color is very dark brown with a light brown head.

Bottle. Pours brownish black with small brown falling head. Aroma is vague but has notes of roasted malt, pear/banana yoghurt, mint chocolate and coffee. Taste is initial light acidic then medium sweet and medium bitter and light acidic. Body is creamy with soft sparkling carbonation. Finish is long and medium bitter and sweet with notes of caramel, burnt sugar, grilled meat, brown syrup, fruit yoghurt, gravy, ammonium chloride licorice and mint licorice. Rich and complex!

Botella de 50 cl en el Lupulo. Noviembre de 2013. Muy buena con gran cuerpo y sabores tostados y algo especiados. Aún podria tener un poco más de cuerpo y densidad para mi gusto. Muy bien de alcohol. Para repetir una vez más sin problema.

Fra flaske på Cardinaltreff okt-13: søt, kraftig, fyldig, mørk og sterk (som meg...). Dette er Midtfyn på sitt aller beste. MÅ kjøpe denne neste gang jeg er på Nørrebrohytta.
