Sample from tap at the Growler Guys, Bend, 23/05/13. Very dark mahogony brown with a decent sized tan head, Nose is chocolate, sweet sugars, roast malt. Taste comprises light wood, bitter chocolate, roast malt, biscuit, sugars. Medium bodied with bte, fine carbonation, bitter roast in a sweet finish. Ok fayre - could do with the sweetness tempering a little as comes across as a doube digit imperial in this respect.

Bottle brought by JRedmond at 5K/10K/4K tasting. Pours black with tan head. Nose and taste of roast chocolate malt, vanilla extract, wood and sweet chocolate. Lots of vanilla extract - but in a good way. Medium body.

Woodshed 2.0. Bottle share courtesy of Sparky. It pours with a mahogany looking body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up vanilla, fudge and cinnamon all mixing together. Smells pretty nice. The taste is similar with brownie and fudge as well as molasses mixed with a mild degree of cinnamon like spiciness. Yummy.

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma with weak hints of bourbon. Roasted malty bitter chocolate flavor with oaky bourbon hints. Has a roasted malty oaky chocolate finish.

Bottle. White Wax. Pours with a black hue and a tan head. Aromas are strongly creamy, huge vanilla, chocolate ice cream, cookie dough nose. Cocoa nibs, low roast, ice cream and barrel. Flavors are chocolatey and a bit chalky. Vanilla. Powdery, lots of cocoa, mild grainy. Medium carbonation, but feels a touch thin. Amazing aroma though!

Bottled@SBWF2012. Deep ambery brown colour, small brown head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, mild liquorice and toffee. Flavour is coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, toffee and some sweet maltyness. Also some slight vanillaish notes.

Sample @ Stockholm Beer & Whisky 2012. Pours very dark brown, almost black, with a small dark mocha head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of trace on the glass. Smell is sweet with lots and lots of chocoalte combined with vanilla fudge, toffee, toasted malts, wood, roasted coconut, burnt cookies, brownies and chocolate pudding. Taste is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, cocoa powder, wood, dark roast coffee, brownies, milk chocolate, roasted coconut, resin, burnt cookies, vanilla fudge and hints of pine. Mouthfeel is smooth, round, tiny watery and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and bitter with roasted malts, bitter chocolate, sweetened dark roast coffee, wood and hints of lemon zest. Solid chocolate and vanilla bomb that I expected more from.

22 oz bomber a gift from bhensonb at our tasting at his house. Nose is rich dark chocolate, vanilla, sweetness, and a light touch of bourbon. Clear very dark brown with a small beige head. Flavor is very chocolatey, lots of vanilla, and some bitterness with only the tiniest, barely detectable hints of bourbon. Fantastic brew!

Tap at the tap house. Pours black with a creamy beige head. Huge chocolate and bourbon aroma. Full bodied; creamy. Flavor is smooth bourbon, but turns very chocolate as the bourbon slips away. Smooth, gets a little ashy, not too bitter and the heat is very low key. Excellent ale.
