0.5l bottle from D&S, Dresden, expired a couple of weeks before (28.12.2025), sold at full price sadly. Hazy dark amber body, off-white head. Resinous, orange jelly and heaps of oxidation in the aroma, mildly woody. Lean, dry taste, citric, raisins, floral, smooth, strong bitterish finish. Clearly gone, oxidized, but respectable for a macro take at the style. WIll hopefully rerate.

24 September 2025. At Bitburger Bierhaus Bad Münstereifel. Shared with the lovely Anke!

A: clear golden, stable, foamy, off-white head.
A: peach, pear, biscuit, grapefruit peel, melon.
T: sweetish peach & melon, bitter grapefruit & pine, biscuit.
F: bitter resinous hops, grapefruit, touch of brown soap.
P: medium body, slick texture, average carbonation.
Surprisingly good; a "German IPA" of sorts then?

Appearance: Cloudy amber with a large and stable off-white head. Aroma: Biscuits, grapefruit, resin, floral notes. Taste: Light to medium sweet, medium to heavy bitter. grapefruit, pine needles, biscuit malt, floral notes. Lingering hoppy ending. So is the aftertaste. Mouth feel: Medium body, soft carbonation. Summary: Absolutely alright. Call it when you once hear the Macro-Germans aren't able to make a proper IPA.
