This complex Double India Pale Ale has an intense citrus and floral hop aroma balanced by a velvety malt body which has been augmented with lactose milk sugar. With this different take on an IPA, we have brewed an ale that is both please to drink, and once again, "Not Normal."

Draught @ Mikkeller Bar. Strange grainy, alcoholic aroma. Taste is awfully sweet with notes of flowers and honey. What sent wrong here?

22 oz bottle poured into a tulip. Thanks to my friend Daniel for the trade. Bottled 6/27/2014. Hazy orange with 3 fingers of off-white head. Nice webby lacing. Aromas of citrus, floral notes, some alcohol. Tastes of citrus, tropical fruit, milky sweetness, pine, light toasty notes, some alcohol. Medium body with a dry finish. Juicy almost creamy mouthfeel. Medium carbonation. Lactose adds an interesting sweetness and works fairly well.

Another high-test IPA that sat in my fridge for about two years. At least it stayed in my fridge, and seems not the worse for wear. Smell is mostly hops, but in the grapefruit and papaya mode. Light golden body, almost like a Bud until tI see the reddish highlights around the edges. Big, bold Imperial ale taste. Hops keep it very bitter, but still can’t disguise the extra sweetness on top of a big alcohol payload (and this was listed in RB as 9.5% abv when I got this). Geez, I think the last 3F’s bomber I had all to myself was a Dark Lord. This is equal in comparison as a different style/ Lighter in taste, I’d say, than a Hopslam, but still kind of thick and syrupy, leaving a coating along with the lace on the side of my IPA tulip. Holds up great when stored cool!

Opaque Hazy Orange, Lasting Huge Foamy Head, Decent Lacing. Surprisingly, Virtually No Aroma, Only Faint Hops. Initially Bitter and Light Booze then bitterness goes away or your Palate gets used to it. So The Further you get in your drink, there is no bitter, only sweet sugary Malt. Full Creamy Body. Real Smooth and Easy Drinker. Hides High ABV Well. Feels like only half of its actual 11%. Nice. Enjoyed It. Recommended...

Bottle: Poured a bright golden color ale with a relatively large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrus and tropical hops is quite present with some sweet notes being also easily perceptible. Taste is also dominated by huge citrus notes with some tropical notes also noticeable. Sweet notes are easily perceptible and maybe a tad too much for my own taste. Body is about average with somewhat of an oily texture and good carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Interesting but too sweet for my taste buds and therefore a bit of a disappointment considering the brewery.
