Prairie Noir is our whiskey barrel aged imperial oatmeal stout. We brew this beer with a huge amount of oats to give it an ever so silky mouth feel. Notes of coffee, chocolate, and toasted marshmallow can be found in the flavor and aroma of this beer. Notes of whiskey and carmel are also packed into this beer.

Bottle shared by my daughter. Nose is chocolate, wet earth, bourbon, vanilla, and oatmeal mush. Black with a tiny cinnamon tan head. Flavor is moderately sweet with bourbon and chocolate.

Black with dark head - Dark malt aroma with wood and some dark fruity flavours - Dark malt body with chocolate, wood , vanilla and some dark fruity tones - The dark malt wood chocolate and some coffee flavours goes into the finish - This was real good

Bottle, 13.7%. Very dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, barrel and whiskey. Flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, sweet, caramel, marshmallow, barrel, vanilla, wood, whiskey, warming and a little bitter.

I can find the occasional Prairie Ale at the Cellar in Odessa. The best imperial stouts, no, but usually good. Tonight I have Noir to try. Imperial stout, oak, whiskey barrels, I am all over it. The 12 oz bottle is opened and I'm pouring into a snifter. Dark, very dark, of course, and an accompanying skim of tan foam. A nice, no, a great, scent of vanilla, caramel and malt. Now the taste, hmm, good for sure. Raspberry jam, toffee, medium chocolate, vanilla again and grain. Not a full sensation but agreeable. Alcoholy with some woodiness. Smooth.
