Black Damnation is black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and boasts massive taste. This brew is the perfect marriage of the sweet, unxious flavors from Black Albert and the bitter charcoal and coffee profile from the Hel & Verdoemenis. Good luck finding some, the last batch was made in 2010!
50% of Black Albert was used with another 50% of H&V. Black coloured beer with just a sliver of a dark tan head. Aroma is glorious & full of coffee, brown sugar, dark fruity chocolate. Flavours of H&V are quite evident, charcoal and mineral notes, chocolate, cocoa powder. Good coffee chocolate finish with good balancing bitterness and hops & sugar in the after taste. 2009 vintage 12% abv 2010 vintage 13% abv.

Black with dark brown foam. Low carbonation. Very well balanced beer. Aroma of dark fruit, chocolate, roasted malts, coffee and port. Full of taste. This is world class!

Pitch black color. Tons of dark chocolate, fudge, bourbon, cacao, very intense nose. Big boozy mouth, slightly sour, tons of cacao, dark fruit, fudge, totally intense and over the top. Lingering fuge and dark fruit fruit. Warming, but alcohol is well hidden in the mouth. Good winter warmer that is why I am drinking it in June?!?

15/02/2013 Brasserie 4:20 (vintage 2009). Nera, impenetrabile, schiuma leggera e poco persistente. Corpo medio-pieno, carbonazione soft. Non ha retto, esperienza da dimenticare.

33 cl bottle @ Olutravintola Esplanadi. Rated on 07.08.2009
Aroma has salty licorice, some coffee, hints of soy sauce and alcohol. Flavour has dark chocolate, somewhat salty licorice, distant herbal notes and coffee. Strong, stinging finish with some alcohol. Rather good but still I expected more. Let’s see if aging does this any better.
33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 03/2014
Not too boozy anymore, but too much ash and also an odd earthy feeling. Feels sour, this is not that nice anymore. Harsh score estimate: 3.8.

A deep dark stout with a thin dark brown head. In aroma, herbaceous and complex bitter chocolate, celery salts, and light alcohol warmth. In mouth, a dark bitter chocolate, dark roasted coffee, intense and kick ass, burned molasses, warming alcohol. Tasted with GRM on August 28, 2012. Merci Sylvain.

Bottle at home, thanks to Wim for an IP trade, 08/07/12. Pours inky black with a dirty mocha brown head. Roasted malt nose backed up by chocolate, mocha, licquorice and brown sugar. Taste as nose with a little oaky wood and very subtle smoke and spice. Medium to full body with great carbonation. Very well made and balanced RIS - top notch!

33cl bottle (2010 vintage ) at hevig hoekske ( antwerp ). truely one of the best brews i’ve ever had. can’t realy say what i recognize, so i’m just gonna come out and say my opinion, wich is that this beer has everything you could wish ! blackened by hellish demons could be a reason to describe the colour of this one ! the taste is les complex than the other black damnations, but either way, it still remains my favourite ! sweet , but they didn’t push it to far. drinking this makes me wanna buy a crate of black albert and hel en verdoemenis, mix it, and drink it till the end of times ! definetley recomended !

Bottle @ Kulminator. Deep, thick black appearance with a rich, deep brown head. Excellent lacing. Rich anise, thick dark chocolate, roasty, lightly charred, mild vanilla aroma with some dark fruit notes like plum and fig. Very smooth flavor for 13%. Somewhat sweet, charred dark chocolate malty, somewhat ashy, mild anise, a bit earthy flavor with a burnt, somewhat earthy finish. Way too smooth for 13%.
