This is the OG (original gangstah) of our Black Damnation series and the one that started it all. This beer is a blend of Struise Black Albert and De Molen Hel & Verdoemenis imperial stouts. Both beers on the very edge of darkness, of which the brewers' minds both sit on the verge of insanity.

Black Damnation is black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and boasts massive taste. This brew is the perfect marriage of the sweet, unxious flavors from Black Albert and the bitter charcoal and coffee profile from the Hel & Verdoemenis. Good luck finding some, the last batch was made in 2010!

50% of Black Albert was used with another 50% of H&V. Black coloured beer with just a sliver of a dark tan head. Aroma is glorious & full of coffee, brown sugar, dark fruity chocolate. Flavours of H&V are quite evident, charcoal and mineral notes, chocolate, cocoa powder. Good coffee chocolate finish with good balancing bitterness and hops & sugar in the after taste. 2009 vintage 12% abv 2010 vintage 13% abv.

Bottle. Coffee and chocolate malt aroma with light astringency and a hint of cherry- makes my mouth water. Opaque dark brown with large brown head - pours thick. Sweet cherry, brown sugar, and light coffee malt flavor with moderate astringent alcohol finish. Surprisingly smooth. Very nice.

330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar and importer HaandBryggeriet. ABV is 13%. Pitch black colour, big brown head. The aroma is first woody and dusty, followed by roasty notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Very rich mouthfeel. The flavour has loads of malty sweetness and roastiness, woody notes, also notes of brown sugar, dark bitter chocolate and coffee, bitter hops in the finish. Woody aftertaste.

Bottle courtesy of Urbain at the schoolhouse, tasted with the 3 beer students, Kenny and Savannah. Thank you Urbain! Very black (duh). No head. Scant lacing. Aroma starts with whisky, but also dark fruits and licorice. Flavor starts with coffee then progresses to plums, raisins, and finishes with burnt espresso. Good body, slightly lighter than expected. Incredible. Simply incredible. Can’t wait for pre-ZBF 2010.

Bottled (BB 03/2014)
Courtesy of bierkoning, ty Edo! Pitch black color, nice creamy brown head. Intensive aroma of coffee, coffee beans, bourbon, lots of roasted malts. Full-bodied. Sticky palate. Whisky, chocolate, roasted malts and lots of alcohol. You can find handprints of both De Molen and Struise here. Needs more cellaring, I think, although it is drinkable already.

Bottle courtesy of the magnificent madmitch76. Thank you sir. Pours deep dark mahogany with dark tan head. The aroma is roasty to burnt malts and dark fruity esters to start then mild notes of spices and then molasses round things out. The taste begins with roasty malts and chocolate then sweet black grapes and prunes to midway. Toward the finish those flavors are met by a mild level of sour barrel notes coming to the surface mingling peacefully with more chocolate and burnt malts.
