The bottle looks a bit complex, but good. The beer in the glass very dark, almost black, huge head. Starts mild, dry-malty, very roasty and smoky. Also a bit earthy. Well balanced finish. Tastes a little bit like a dry maltbeer. Not bad!

Brown with a medium to large deep beige head. Sweet aroma with burned malt, coffee, dark chocolate and liquierice. Flavor was fairly dry with plenty of hops, burned malt, dark chocolate, coffee and english liquerice. Fine balance and quite a session beer. Very full bodied for it’s abv. Nice.

Picked this up from Bierkoning, Amsterdam, Netherlands, June 2010, consumed 19.08.10 Pours murky dark puddle brown, sort of oily puddle but without the nice oily rainbow sheen, that makes me think actually that as devastating as that oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico was at least there may have been a nice rainbowy sheen when the sun shone. Bit of milky coffee with some perfume added (where is that coming from?) soft carbonation, bit of weird parma violet thing going on. I don’t mind this and it tastes much stronger than 3.5% nutty tasting but there is definately some bloody perfume in here. Mhhhh...., jury is out now. A6 A3 T5 P3 Ov11 2.8

Draught at the brewery. Black with a high, off-white head. Rich lacto-chocolate aroma, slight dried fruit, slight roasting. Clean, light chocolate flavor with just a touch of tart fruit, milk. Light and very flavorful. Nicely roasted finish. A touch of berry in there as well. Great for such a low alcohol beer.

Bottle (courtesy of Bierkoning - thanks). Coffee, chocolate and milky malt and light hops aroma - mouth-watering. Dark brown color with larger tan head. Smokey coffee and sweet milk chocolate malt. A great beer - unbelievable that it’s low alcohol.
