3 Fonteinen “Intens Rood” (Intense Red) is the result of macerating hand-picked whole sour cherries on lambic for at least six months, in a proportion of one kilogram of fruit per litre of lambic, and is then blended again with more lambic to obtain a minimum intensity of 450 grams of fruit per liter. The kriek lambic ferments in the bottle for at least another six months and develops into an intense wine-like fruit lambic. This bottle fermented, unfiltered and unpasteurised lambic is all-natural with no artificial juices, syrups, or sugars added. Traditional Lambic is living, cultural heritage rooted in the Zenne valley!

O:8.59 V:2.562 G:8.518 C:4.25 G:16.25 T:40.17 The olfactory allows us to perceive the fruitiness of the cherries which are accompanied by notes of candied fruit and a slight caramel sugar. The support base of this olfactory is well farmer and horse but remains in balance with the fruits. Brownish-red in color, it is veiled and develops a thick foam that quickly disappears. You can smell the sour cherries in the mouth, but everything remains balanced with the farm flavors. A slight caramelized sweetness is added in the background with a slight accent of woody. Very balanced. Sweet despite an assertive wild side and a well-established acidity. Refined.

Jan 25, 2022 (8/4/8/4/8/16=4.0): Bottle at Weathered 2022. Clear deep red with small white head. Nice cherry, light tartness, good balance.

Bottle at Christmas, seems to be about 5 years old. Dark cherry red with a small head -- it's very pretty. Smells very sour-ish and funky, fruity cherry sour notes. I know that's extremely descriptive; you're welcome. Flavor is well rounded, very complex and perfectly balanced blend of cherry, sour acidity, and funky sour-aging notes. Still has some body unlike a lot of similar sour beers which can be too dry.

Bottle, 5-7 years old? Thanks for this treasure David! Pours red to purple, mostly clear, pink head. Starts with a interesting Maggi, dust, almond, herb, aroma. Medium full dry, foamy, chewy. Nice berry, cherry, ribena, jammy, good balance to the tart and bretty notes. Very drinkable.

Season 18|19 - Blend No. 118 bottle from Livonia Liquor. Pours a deep ruby red with a pink foam that lingers. Lots of tart cherry and sweet cherry aromas on the nose with almond, cherry stone and funk as it warms. Palate is similar, with tart cherry fruit and skin dryness present on the palate. Finishes dry with lingering cherry stone, barnyard, hay and musty funk. Very nice.
