Bottle, hotel tasting. Clear dark brown color, thin tan head. Aroma of sourdough brownies. Taste is softly sour coffee with light cocoa. Interesting.

Bottle: Almost black with a well hidden ruby sheen, small off-white head; moderate to solid sourish-vinous to caramelly nose, a bit leathery, as well; moderate to solid sourish-sweet flavour, medium bodied and relatively soft; fruity to caramelly finish with distinctive traces of blasamico and - maybe also - light traces of chocolate.Complex and nice…

Bottle at home picked up from Cotteridge wines a while back. Thanks to Rich The villan for the reccomanedation. Opaque black pour with a lasting mid tan head. Aroma is big funky brett with a pinch of lacto, dark roasted grains, tart fruits, apricot. Some berry, vanilla sweetness. Flavour is smooth dark roast, dark choc, tart green apple, creamy, woody. Really tangy and bitter sweet. Palate is full and smooth, highish carbonation, pinch of sweetness, finish is tart and sour. The beer has a little age on it and it is really nicely rounded, no tell-tail signs of age. Nice layers of complexity. Really good.

Aroma is roasted malts, chocolaty, not much funk yet. Taste is dark chocolate, roasted malts with a nice sourness. Doesn’t feel Imperial. I like it.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - opaque black with a token effort head. Nose - roast and dark chocolate, maybe filter coffee. There’s a tangy dark fruit in there too, maybe contributing, a sour note amongst the intensely sweet. Taste - more of the above, some sort of chocolate, roast and blackcurrant hybrid. Palate - full bodied with a big texture that is creamy yet tangy. Rich but balanced finish. Overall - yes, most delicious!

330ml bottle from the Brewery online shop, shared with AshtonMcCobb. Pours opaque dark brown, no head initially, but the gentle carbonation produces a slight one eventually. Aromas are intriguing, dark roast, blackcurrant, liquorice, cider tang, fruity. Taste is more of the same. Palate has a tight structure, zingy at first, light roast, then a sweet finish. Very nice.

330ml Bottle - Black with a tan head. The aroma is reminiscent of a classic gueuze with some musty hints and notes of damp wood and sour berries, plus some roasted notes from the malt. The taste manages to superbly balance the qualities of both a gueuze and a stout with cocoa, redcurrants, wood, oak and coffee detected. A superb beer.

Bottle from Terre de Boissons. Black beer with thick beige head. Sour aroma with an imperial stout on top. It’s a sour imperial stout. Does it work? Um not quite. Nice enough. Chocolate roast. Gueuze and stout? No. Not my favourite. Nothing wrong with it, good condition. Just not sure I like the blend of the two.
