Hmm... out of a can this is pretty bad. I remember the bottled version being much better. Really effervescent, but little collection on surface to form head. Color looks like an extremely transparent gold. Aroma is weak and grainy. Taste is sweet and smooth, maybe some fruit... apple? Then again, maybe it looks so much like bubbly apple juice that I’m having a hard time concentrating. Not bad, but definitely a beer for such hallowed experiences such as deer camp.

This isn't a terrible cheap beer... and a nice alternative to the run of the mill crap you buy when you're broke. Appearance and smell are nothing special; taste is not bad, but this is definitely not a "good" beer. Mouthfeel, well... it is a cheap beer. This is a drinkable beer if you're short on funds.

Hard to distinguish from Ice house, maybe a little less alcohol stale malt and more sour bitterness. Any way you look at it, very bad.

As I say regarding nearly all macro-made American lagers, this just doesn't compare to the good lagers of the world. But Red Dog is IMO among the very best macro lagers. It has a richer flavor than all the other big name beers.
