Dieses Bier fand ich in einem bottleshop in Wien und war schon recht gespannt aufgrund der guten Bewertungen und der tollen Geschichte. Allerdings konnte mich das Bier nicht begistern: es ist schwer den Geschmack zu beschreiben: etwas Kirschlikör, bittere Orangenzeste, Aspirin C und erdiger Torf kommen mir in den Sinn. Möglicherweise kreativ und doch bodenständig - mir aber zu viel und zu komisch.

Nose is strong nut with a hint of brown sugar. Appearance is a cola with a small head leading to lacing. Taste is smoke leading to nut with a sharp bitterness. Mouthfeel was a little thin. Overall, I found it too bitter compared to other Scotch’s I have sampled, and lacking the same depth of flavor. Enjoyable however.

33cl bottle from Vinmonopolet, Vika. Pours clear dark brown with a pale beige head. Aroma of raisins, malt and caramel with hints of alcohol, wood and roastiness. Sweet and slightly reminiscent of fortified wine. Quite desserty, but well balanced. Nice beer for the colder months.

Aroma is somewhat spicy with ripe fruits and toffee. Flavour has roasted notes, some vanilla, ripe fruits, toffee and spices. Like a light version of Jacobite Ale.

Bottle at home. Pours a pretty clear deep brown colour with a light beige medium head. Malty and sweet aroma of dried fruit, oak, leather and nuts. Wonderful, and like a proper brown ale. Lighter flavour than expected but still lots of malt along with rye bread, nuts and a touch of roasted coffee beans in the end. Light and slick mouthfeel, and a surprisingly medium bitterness. Lovely aroma and one of a kind taste. Pleasant.
