The Love is an unfiltered wheat beer, also known as a hefeweizen. It is distinguished by its extremely light body and flavored with hints of banana and clove. A slice of lemon can complement this refreshing brew.

12oz bottle pours hazy deep gold with orange juice hues at the core and a 30 second white head. The aroma puts off notes of cherry, spicy yeast, wheat and banana with an underlying acidic like tartness. The flavor confirms the sense of acidic like tartness noticed in the nose with un-ripe cherry tannins moving into cherry sweet/tart candy then a pulse or two of citrus lemon sourness. I get faint soft wheat to banana notes around the edges of the tartness. Maybe this is a wheat sour?

draft @ OTH. golden straw, white head. aroma and flavors, one dimensional hefe, a lot of banana and esters coming through the nose and giving a thick palate along with some wheat and yeast. Light bitter finish. Not bad, but just too much banana for my tastes.

Very shitty babyfood nose, with banana and lemon notes. Cloudy yellow, thin head. Powerfully sour lemony wheat flavor. Clean finish. Refreshingly sour, but one dimensional and lacking in personality. Not a good hefeweizen.

12oz bottle. Hazy, almost opaque orange-tan color. Fresh yeasty wheat aroma. Solid banana-clove characteristics. Smooth and easy-drinking. Medium body with some upfront crispness fades into a sweet watery finish. Pretty enjoyable beer. Sessionable all the way.

Location: 12 oz bottle, 5/26/09, I don't know where it was purchased.

Aroma: Sugary nose, banana, cloves, light citrus, a pretty darn sweet nose
Appearance: Hazy yellow, gold color
Flavor: A sweet one, taste a lot like it smells, just call it sweet and wheat
Palate: Light and easy drinking, something you might enjoy at a BBQ or Pool Party
Overall Impression: I thought this was an OK example of the style, but nothing more then that. A decent beer, but I wouldn't go any higher then that...

**Just submitted a Photo for this one as well, as it was missing one.

Bottle from Whole Foods Charlottesville. I had this at Miller’s a long time ago and found it pleasant. Kinda surprised they’re bottling it. Hazy yellow with a creamy 2-finger head. Decent retention. Aroma is banana, citrus, yeast, and a bit of spice. Taste is yeast with citrus and bubblegum. One of Starr Hill’s better offerings.

On tap at the brewery on 05/09/2009. Hazy pale orange body with a frothy off-white head. Grainy banana aroma with some wheat notes. Grainy banana flavor, somewhat chalky with a wheat background. Medium body with moderately high carbonation. 5/2/5/2/10 - 2.4 08/25/2006: Hazy white body with a small white head. Sweet banana aroma with some light orange peel and some spice. Sweet spiced flavor, some banana hints and a little orange peel. 7/3/7/3/13 - 3.3

Cloudy yellowish with a small head. Little aroma. Flavor is mainly banana, which is good- but it’s thin. Not bad, might try it again.
