Pours clear copper with thin tan head. The aroma has a load of grainy Munich malt mixing with sweeter malts and biscuit malts. Behind all the maltiness is a ribbon of faint dark fruity esters. The taste is very much the same with grande grainy-biscuit malts, rich sweet dark fruity esters, mild sweet caramel candy and a kiss of hop bitterness. The hops do grow a bit into the finish and hang on in the after taste.

12oz bottle. Very attractive deep but clear orange brown color with a whitish-beige head that quickly fades. Aroma is brewery-like and malty. Sweet taste and by the end of that first sip you’ve been bombarded with that classic bock taste. Despite the alcohol strength, it has a nice soft mouthfeel and remains quite drinkable. Glad to see Mendocino coming out with quality seasonals.

Interesting light fruit aroma backed by a bit of caramel. Copper color with a white head that didn’t stick. Fair medium body with near creamy carbonation. The flavor is caramel, but there seems to be something a bit more floral than the noble hop I’m used to. The finish is nicely balanced, and finally does end on a somewhat grassy note. Well done.
