Sample at the Most Honorable SuperHappyFun Stout Tasting. Bottle from Bevmo in Palmdale, CA. This beer pours blackish brown with a thin beige head that dissipates quickly. Stringy lacing. The aroma is both roasty and vinous with touches of malt and chocolate. Medium, dry body with notes of roasted malt, wine and coffee. The finish is roasted malt and caramel, with a light hops aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Bomber from Bottle Barn. Aroma of rich, dark chocolate. Really chocolate. It’s dark and opaque. The tan head only amounted to a few bubbles and a light ring. Medium in body with mild, but sharpish, carbonation. Velvety smooth. The flavor starts smoky, toasted malts. Better than Guinness. The chocolate is muted by the malt. The mouth is coated with something that seems like toast mixed with chocolate. The finish is a bit thin, the dark chocolate persists, and there is arguably some hop bitter (though with the toastiness it’s hard to tell). Seems seriously underrated.

Deep opaque brown body, thick brown head. Rich chocolate and roasted malt aroma with ample sweetness. The body exhibits a woody dryness, but lacks the astringent acidity that plagues the thinnest stouts. Dark chocolate notes with modest sweetness are prominent. Rich body features a pleasant lingering cocoa aftertaste. Nice, robust stout.

Bottle pours a pitch black with a huge tan head. Earthy, bitter chocolate leather and coffe aroma. Flavor is lightly bitter chocolate, charcoal and dark roasted malts. Slightly thin palate. Fairly lively carbonation for the style. Thanks to lukin013 for sending this out.

Bottle. Black beer with a huge chocolate colored head. Roasty aroma with a bit of sweetness. Roasty, sweet chocolate flavor with enough hops to balance. Lingering coffee and chocolate.
