Bottle at Winterbierfestival, Gouda: Very black brew with an very robust taste of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and hints of vanilla. Kinda crazy brew at the start.

A bit over sweet for the style, almost unfermented wort. But nothing overtly off. Strong and thick yet light bodied. Jumbo lelystas

33cl fles bij Camping Wildhoeve. Donkerbruine kleur, licht-beige kraag. Koffie, gebrande mout, hint van eiken, tonka. Smaak is een stuk slapper, redelijk zoet, eikenhout, wat koffie, papier, medium bittere finish. Lichte body. Derde bier op een rij waarbij de geur meer belooft dan de smaak waarmaakt.

Bootle 302 of 396, big thanks to Maarten! Deep dark brown color. Bourbon and licorice in the aroma. Oak and bourbon dominating moest other flavors Malty sweetish. Alcoholic, in spite of the modest ABV mentioned. Coffee and licorice. The Wild Turkey casks suit this beer well.

Bottle at Strandpaviljoen Buiten, zwarte pad, Scheveningen. Black with offwhite head. Dark roasted dark malts, chocolate, coffee, licorice, charcoal. Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation. Very soft velvety feel. Decent stuff! Feels like a deep roasted stout more than a german schwartz.

33 cl. bottle shared with de Molen Hopcrew @ de Molen Hopveld, Epe. Very dark brown with an off-white head. Aroma of dark roasted malts and also some smoked malts but one of the brewers insisted they didn’t used those. Also some oak in the nose. Taste is medium bitter with some earthiness due to the malts and the oak. A pleasant surprise.
