This robust dark ale is surprisingly smooth and drinkable. Caramel, molasses and chocolate flavors fill the palate. Its sweet start is perfectly balanced by a roasted dry finish.

Cask @ brewpub San Jose. Dark brown, almost black body with a moderate light brown head. Aroma of sweet malt, also a bit roasted. Flavor is like a quite ordinary average porter, good but nothing special. You will find sweet, roasted malt, coffee etc. Nice but nothing special to it.

[At BJβs in Boulder, Colorado] A red-brown beer with a small beige head. The aroma is slightly roasted and the flavor is sweet with notes of caramel as well as hints of roasted malt. The body is thin. A slightly boring beer.

Sampled draught at BJβs, Burbank, CA.
Dark brown. Roasty and very chocolatey. Dryish and medium bodied with soft, gentle mouthfeel. Some molasses are there. Really salty finish.
