No head but rim, red-brown reflections in black beer. Coffee, dry coffee, and Ersatz Coffee - nowt else. Did I mention coffee? (Cold) coffee, parsley, brown sugar. Dull. Finish has some ’sharper’ bitterness. Medium bodied, quite slick, but flat as a pancake. Oh well. Daily routine is dull. Pity I never drink coffee...

I picked this up at Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgium, June 2013 consumed in the main field at Cropredy Fairport festival Saturday 10th August 2013 Pours dark brown with v.little head, crikey this smells so much of coffee, ah.. I get the double meaning of the name now. This is amazingly coffee like, perhaps a little one dimensional, but very good, the most coffeeish beer I’ve ever had by some margin. A7 A3 T8 P4 Ov15 3.7

Bottle at Rooie Dop, Utrecht at the RBESG 2013 opening night. Poured a deep mahogany with a broken tan head. The aroma is a weak dusty malt with some citrus notes in the background. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with lots of coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate and liqourice in the finish. There is some alcohol in there, but it stays well in the background. I really liked this beer.

Bottle split with Josh at the Cask, Pimlico, 13/06/13. Light black with a thin tan head which clears to a film. Nose carries rich espresso roast, dark fruits, little clues that it was infected. Taste comprises sour notes, infected, coffee, lactic tones. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, sour finish. Meh. We had 2 bottles of this, the 2nd was just the same and carried floaties. Don’t like to rate infected beers but worth it to warn others, there are many breweries which I’ve never had any such issues with, others seem to be regular offenders.

(Bottle 0,33l) Strong coffee, cocoa aroma. Dark brown color. Minimal brown head. Light sweet, light bitter, coffee, dry cocoa flavour. Light-medium body. Long dry, cocoa finish. Interesting beer, maybe too much coffee.

Bouteille 33cl, bottled on 26/02/2013.

Bottled. A black beer with a huge brown head. The aroma has notes of coffee, cappuchino, and malt. The flavor is sweet with an acidic edge of strong coffee, combined with notes of herbs, milk chcolate, and roasted malt, leading to a dry finish.

330ml bottle. Dark brown colour with average to huge, firm, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Dark malty aroma with a touch of roast, an explicit coffee note, a minimally fusty, earthy touch. Taste is dry and sourish, dry and astringent coffee note. Infected?
