2015 bottle marked "Imperial Vin Bu" but Tempranillo variety is specified in deScription. The beer is a deep but bright maroon-ish purple color. It’s very cloudy, opaque. The head is a light purple, pink color. Fairly fizzy. Bubbles die away to nothing. The aroma is a fairly juicy berry grape flavor. Blackberries, red and black grapes, light lemon, a little stone fruit. Solid contribution from the oak barrel, as well. A little yogurty. Very nice mix of grape and wood in the taste. Moderate to medium level of tannin. Somewhat astringent but there’s still plenty of juicy grape flavor to it. It avoids tasting like a sparkling wine as at least one other grape beer from De Garde did when I tried it (I think it was The Archer). Dry but not overly so. The berliner base is fairly gentle. Light sourness for de Garde. Light, fizzy feel. Very pleasant and easy to drink. One of the best de Garde beers that I’ve tried.

Bottle thanks to Chow. Pours a cloudy pink purple with medium frothy off white head that lasts. The aroma is strong grape and oak. Medium mouthfeel with tart grape, light funk, good.
