The Golden Tricky is made in honour of a witty priest from East-Flanders. The only hop that is used in this brew is the Australian Ella. Don’t be fooled by her exotic aroma that creates the expectation of a sweet beer. You will soon notice the bitter aftertaste that makes this beer whole. Do the test and let a boomerang of tastes slide through your throat, all the way down-under.

F: big, white, long lasting. C: yellowish to pale gold, hazy, opaque. A: malt, light citrus, hint of tropical fruits, green apple, lemon, citrus peels. T: malt, lemon, citrus peels, green apple, wheat, pine, medium to full body, medium carbonation, good one, enjoyed, 0,33l bottle from Prik & Tik ABC Drinks in Leuven.

33cl Bottle, thanks Harmen! As Brouwers Verzet Golden Tricky, 7.5%. Hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of malts, apples, Belgian yeast, Belgian hops, grassy, green, some lemon. Flavour is light to medium sweet, malty, apple, apple skin, lemon, grass, Belgian yeast, firm bitter finish. Medium bodied. Good and relatively hoppy Tripel, really not an IPA in any way imho. Doesn’t say on the tin it is btw.

Tap at Moeder Lambic. Lots of fruitiness, also lightly spicy, easy drinking. Body is thin yet feels moderate at least. Good one.

Keg tap from the Blue Moon, Cambridge. Mid gold, slightly hazy. A bit of whitish head. Gentle aroma of grapefruit, sour apple and a hint of lactic funk. Sweet-sour interplay dominates the intital taste before a more bitter note takes over. Finish is notably acrid, unfortunately. Overall an excellent beer. Slight balance issues keep it away from my top beers but man is it good.

Bottle 75cl. Hazy light yellow (hayish look) with a big white head, leaving lots of lacings. Aroma is citrusy, floral, slight soapy, yeasty and at the same time juicy. Taste is moderately sweet with rustic, yeasty, citrusy feel, dry in the finish with long lasting bitterness. Light to medium body, medium carbo. Like a mix between a modern IPA and a saison. Me like.

Draft. A hazy golden beer with a lazing white head. The aroma has notes of hops, over ripe fruits, spices, caramel, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, dusty hops, over ripe fruits, and metal, leading to a bitter finish. Not refined.
