Draught @ BBB. Pours murky black with a rather small mocha head that leaves some sparse trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty with roasted malts, burnt caramel, graham crackers, dark roast coffee, cocoa powder, moist soil, minerals and hints of alcohol. Taste is tiny sweet, heavy bitter, malty and malty with heavily roasted malts, burnt caramel, burnt wood, dark roast coffee, heavy bitter cocoa powder, salty liquorice, moist soil, minerals and alcohol. Mouthfeel is dry, heavy astringent, tiny boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and bitter with roasted malts, burnt caramel, burnt coffee, cocoa powder, ammonium chloride, moist soil, minerals and hints of alcohol. Harshly bitter and slightly too salty... Tastes like almost pure cocoa powder mixed with soil. Lacks balance and finesse. Re-rate! Draught sample courtesy of mybestfriend. Harsh but not close to as harsh as last time. Holds together in a much nicer way. Still but heavy on the cocoa and soil but adds nicely roasted coffee and hints of grilled banana with dark chocolate.
