Draught @ 3 Små Rum. Pours Amber with a small brownish beige head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is slightly malty with caramel, butterscotch, moist grass, moist soil, grapefruit rinds and lemon zest. Taste is slightly sweet, bitter, tiny malty and tiny fruity with dark bread, caramel, butterscotch, grapefruit juice, moist grass, dried pine needles, moist soil, black tea, orange zest and lemon zest. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny astringent and medium bodied. Finish is slightly sweet and slightly bitter with dark bread, toffee, grapefruit juice, moist grass, pine needles, moist soil, black tea, orange zest and lemon zest. Pretty much everything I don’t want in an IPA. Dark bready caramel malt profile. Un-aromatic bitter-centered earthy hops... Butter and grapefruit rinds... Earthy minerals... I don’t care you’re calling it Winter-IPA. That’s no excuse to do things like this. Vega still has a long way to go, or possibly I have to understand their beers aren’t for me.
