Bottle courtesy of Cunningham. Pours hazy goldenish brown with a small offwhite head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is tiny fruity and tiny estery with dark bread, caramel, banana bread, coffee, grapefruit juice, freshly cut grass, pine needles, orange zest and lemon zest. Taste is sweet, bitter, fruity and tiny estery with caramel, dark roast coffee, moist grass, pine needles, grapefruit juice, orange zest and hints of banana bread. Mouthfeel is round, slightly astringent and medium bodied. finish is tiny sweet and bitter with caramel, grapefruit rinds, coffee, grass, pine needles, orange zest and hints of banana bread. Quite allright… Not sure the esters are intentional but they kind work with the coffee. --- Beer merged from original tick of A Damn Fine Coffee IPA (w/Nano Challa) on 18 Oct 2014 at 12:55 - Score: 7

Starts with a fine unclear orange brown body with a fine white head. Looks actually quite good. Unclear brown is not to often good looking. I was surprised that both the coffee and the hoppy aroma was so divided. And both very clear. Very nice. A solid body but not to thick. Together with a mild (not to mild) carbonation, made it very easy drinkable. Dangerously well hidden alcohol. Solid flavor. And not just a big soup with all flavors mixed together. Coffee, toffee, tropical fruity and grapefruit hoppy. A really solid and well balanced ale. To be able to make an classic on batch #6, that is truly impressive. A highly recommendable ale!
