(Bottle 33 cl) Unclear, dark brown with big, lumpy pieces of yeast. Lovely, brownish head that never collapses completely. Fresh, hoppy nose. Brilliant notes of roasted - no actually it’s burned - malt and some brown sugar. But the mouth feel is mainly dry with a very pronounced bitter finish. Very sophisticated. 230705

Bottle - 8% version Black, hazy body. Lightly brown head. Spicy aroma of burnt malts, liquor, vanilla, flowers, ... Very complex and interesting aroma! One of the loveliest smelling beers I’ve ever tasted, you just can’t make any remark about it. The flavour is moderately bitter and lightly sweet; a little bit disappointing after the very complex aroma. It’s not bad, but certainly not as tremendously good as the aroma.

Dark amber - brown color; big thick head. Aroma of malt, caramel, light smokey, chestnuts, chocolate, hazelnuts, rye; original and complex. Malt and roasted malt flavor, but most of all caramel; nuts, spices. Very strong final bitterness, with a touch of Fernet Branca.

Very dark brown with a reddish shine; very fine dark and thick head, lacey. A lot of flunky UFO's. Dark malty and roasted barley, (sorry) sweaty nose. Taste is pure walnut - sweetness of the nut and the bitterness of the peels. Later, the taste turns to the typical slight acidity of roasted barley. Well-bodied, but not exaggerated chewy. Nice beer, stout-like but without any obligation to a style. I just cannot get really excited - but I'm difficult, no?

The aroma is alcoholic, malty, and sweet. It is an unclear very dark brown beer with a beutiful light brown head. The flavor is fantastic; sweet, malty, and very complex with notes of figs, coffee and a acidic prickling. The finish is dry and a bit woody. A fantastic beer..
I tried this one in a 8%ABV version - which made the flavor less complex and therefore the overrating less. The ratings here are for the 10% ABV version.

Bottled. Very dark ruby with small creamy head. Pleasant vinous aroma with notes of cherries, toffee and utter. Sweet and not overly malty with clean and rather hard mouthfeel. Salty finish with some grassy bitterness.

Beautiful dark brown color, thick creamy longlasting head. Aroma of black chocolate, sweet malts, obvious raisins. Sweet taste, chocolate, not too complex but nicely balanced, again the raisins. Slightly bitter finish. Hardly any alcohol presence. I guess this one is worth a recommendation!
