Une blanche à notre manière : beaucoup de froment, une belle dose de houblons aromatiques (Citra, Simcoe et Chinook) et une touche de coriandre.

33cl can, BB 29/10/2024, batch# P851-852.

White (or wheat) IPA intended as a witbier by La Source, can bought at BrewDog Brussels and consumed as a train beer on the way home. Snow white, foamy, membrane-lacing, stable head, pale yellowish straw blonde robe. Aroma of lime zest, lemongrass, white bread, flour, withering lemonbalm leaves, green melon, touch of dill, armpit sweat. Clean fruitiness in the onset, some green pear and unripe banana, touch green melon, fizzy carb, soapy and slick wheatiness with white-bready core; the underlying sourish aspect of the wheat supports the ‘green’ lime- and herb-like character of the hops, which end up refreshingly zesty and citric, with side notes of dill and lemon verbena. Soft citrusy bitterness in the end, but the soapiness of the wheat prevails. Decent wheat beer but clearly a white IPA, dank and ‘green’ in a way, very quenching – but not a Belgian style witbier at all, at least not a traditional one...

Can from Geers. Hazy yellow, stable, foamy, white head. Aroma of fresh pomelo, white nectarine, mandarin, starfruit, physalis, wheat, bread crust. Taste has sweetish peach & pineapple, sourish pomelo & starfruit in a wheaty, doughy malt body. Floral hoppy finish, softly spicy, lingering fresh stonefruit & citrus. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. Utterly refreshing, a 'Witbier' delicately elevated to a higher level.

From the fermenter @ brewery. 250 ml. Quite hazy, nose is awesome fresh dough & bread, bit hoppy even. Taste is more basic dry cereal, oat & wheat, floral, pepper, benefits a lot from the condition, decent.
